In order to play PCVR games on your Meta Quest 2, 3 or 3S, you need to connect over either a wired or wireless connection. A wired connection is always going to be cheaper, faster, and more reliable. Not all USB cables are created equally though and you need to ensure that your cable is capable of 5Gpbs data speeds. So here are some of the best Quest Link cables to check out!
Kiwi Design 16ft Link Cable
The Kiwi Design cable easily met the expected data speeds of around and also provided power over the UBS-A connection from your PC, which maxes out at around 15w. This was the thinnest cable here which made it not only flexible but also light. This 5 meter cable only weighed 182g. So that flexibility and light weight means that it doesn’t pull down on your headset whilst playing and it also doesn’t feel like the cable is trying to drag you to the floor. So it’s a good quality 5 meter cable, and is a great price at only $25

Cable Creation 16ft Link Cable
The Cable Creation cable was the thickest, and heaviest, cable here, weighing in at 211g. This also made it the stiffest cable too. That inflexibility and weight does add some cable drag when using it. That feeling that the cable is pulling at your head whilst you’re playing.
It did at least have metal encasings on the USB plugs, and comes with two velcro straps for attaching the cable to your headset, which all help to increase the durability and lifespan of the cable.
The Cable Creation cable will cost you $22

Syntech 16ft Link Cable
This Syntech 5 meter cable weighs 183g making one of the lightest cables, but the cheapest only $19! However it does feel the cheapest too. The USB plugs on either end are plastic rather than metal and the cable outer doesn’t feel as premium as the others in this test. So it doesn’t feel the most durable. The cable does however come with a velcro strap for attaching the cable to your headset. It also has something the other two don’t. It has an LED built into the USB plug lights up whenever it’s being used.

Meta Quest Link Cable (16 ft / 5m)
The official Quest Link cable from Meta is another 5 meter cable that is the heaviest of the cables here. It weighs 224g. It is technically a better cable as it is an optical cable, rather than a copper cable like the rest on this list.
It is also the only cable in this list that is a USB-C to USB-C cable rather than USB-C to USB-A. That does allow it to pass more power onto your headset to keep it charged for longer, if your PC can provide it. It also allows for a faster max data speed, but in real world tests all of these cables were capable of providing a stable connection to my PC and so max data speed isn’t an issue, at least for now. This would be a more future proof cable though. The price though is significantly higher though with the retail of this cable being $79. Whether that premium is worth the price is something you’ll have to ask yourself.
