KKCOBVR Q3 Quest 3 Head Strap

KKCOBVR Q3 Quest 3 Head Strap
The KKCOBVR Q3 head strap is highly adjustable, ensuring you get the best fit. There are dials on the arms of the head strap that enable you to choose how far away from your face you want your headset to be, just with a simple twist. You can thererfore pull it close and tight to your face for when you’re playing fitness or fighting games, and then push it back out to relax when play something a little more sedate, such as Cubism. It’s almost like you’re getting an elite style head strap and a Halo style head strap all built into one!
Now the front forehead bar on halo head straps often creates compatibility issues with some facial interfaces. However, there is so much room between the forehead bar and any facial interface on this head strap. So it’s really not a problem here.
The KKCOBVR Q3 also adjusts to suit a large range of head sizes thanks to the dial at the back. The dial is also embedded in the back strap itself. This minimises discomfort if you happen to use this head strap whilst laying down or sitting back in a chair.
The head strap also comes with a top strap to help with weight distribution. However, I took it off as it isn’t padded, and as the forehead bar takes the bulk of the headset weight, it’s largely redundant.
The forehead bar has plenty of padding, which is a good thing as it bears most of the weight of the headset. The same can’t be said for the back pad though. There is no padding there. It’s just a silicone pad. It was still comfortable but I do prefer a padded backpad, especially if I’m gaming for longer sessions.
I did have an issue with comfort, especially for longer gaming sessions. I have an exceptionally large head, and the forehead bar was quite tight on my forehead. To the extend that it pressed into both sides of my head and caused some discomfort when playing for longer. If you find Halo head straps quite loose, or you have a smaller head, than this head strap might actually be a better head strap for you.
So if you’re on a tight budget, and you just want to upgrade the elasticated head strap that comes with your Quest 3, or Quest 3S, then the KKCOBVR Q3 head strap, at only $23, is a good option.
KKCOBVR Q3 Pro Quest 3 Battery Head Strap

KKCOBVR Q3 Pro Quest 3 Head Strap
The KKCOBVR Q3 Pro head strap is very similar to previous Q3. So my comments on the previous head strap also apply here. With the exception of some upgrades that the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro has. The top strap and back pad are now both padded and covered in a PU leather. I still didn’t find the top strap useful and so still removed it. I certainly appreciated the additional padding on the back pad though. The battery is also a good counterweight to the headset. All this combined results in a head strap that feels lighter and more comfortable to wear for longer gaming sessions.
The battery though is it’s major upgrade and provides 10,000mAh of power to allow you to game for hours longer. It also attaches magnetically to the head strap so you can easily swap them out if you buy additional batteries. That’s essential when playing for longer as each battery takes about 3.5 hours to charge up to full. From a full charge you will get around 2-3 hours of additional gameplay.
The upgrades do result in a heavier head strap compared to the Q3 though. The Q3 Pro weighs 444g with the battery, which is almost 200g heavier than the non-battery Q3 head strap. However, the battery acts as a counterweight to the headset at the front. So it actually makes wearing the headset feel lighter to wear despite the head strap being heavier.
So, if you’re looking to upgrade the comfort of your headset, and you want to game for longer, but without spending too much money, then the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro head strap, at $50, is great value for money.
