Edifier M60 Powered Speakers
Design and Build
The Edifier M60 speakers are available in both black and white, and size-wise are impressively compactโstanding at just 6″ tallโmaking them ideal for desks with limited space.

The design is sleek and minimal, featuring a soft-touch exterior that adds a premium feel but can be a bit of a fingerprint magnet. The front panel sports a matte black finish, contrasting slightly with the sides, and houses a 3-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter.
Setup and Connectivity
Setting up the Edifier M60s is as simple as it gets. The right speaker serves as the powered unit, connecting to the mains and linking to the left passive speaker via an included cable.

There are three ways to connect audio sources:
- USB-C: Ideal for direct connections to laptops, PCs, and docking stations.
- AUX-In (3.5mm jack): Compatible with nearly any device, including TVs, CD/DVD players, and older audio equipment.
- Bluetooth 5.3: For wireless audio streaming from any bluetooth enabled device such as a smartphone or tablet.
Edifier also includes two cables in the boxโone with RCA-to-3.5mm plugs and another with a standard 3.5mm-to-3.5mm connector, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices.

Switching between inputs is effortless via touch-sensitive controls on the right speaker or through the Edifier ConneX app. The touch controls even have a built-in proximity sensor so that they light up as your hand approaches, which is a nice touch.
Sound Quality
The Edifier M60s are Hi-Res Audio Certified, supporting LDAC for high-resolution playback. However, they only feature the basic SBC codec, lacking AAC support, which may disappoint some Apple users.
Despite their small size, these speakers deliver a frequency range of 58Hz to 40kHz and pump out 66 watts of total powerโa remarkable feat for speakers this compact.
The audio profile is well-balanced, with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. Tracks like The Weekndโs Starboy and The Hills showcase just how much bass these speakers can produce, filling a medium-to-large room with ease. Even at high volumes, vocal clarity remains intact, making them an excellent choice for both music and movies.

Unlike some budget speakers, the M60s come with sturdy metal speaker stands that position them at a 15ยฐ angle, optimizing sound projection. Itโs a small but thoughtful inclusion that enhances audio clarity when placed on a desk.
For customization, the accompanying Edifier ConneX mobile app offers four preset EQ sound modes: Music, Monitor, Game, and Movie, as well as a six-band graphic equalizer for fine-tuning audio to personal preferences.
Any Downsides?
Itโs hard to find major faults with the M60s, but if weโre nitpicking:
- The touch controls on the right speaker arenโt visible when the speakers are angled upwards.
- The proprietary four-pin cable connecting the left and right speakers would have been more convenient as a standard speaker wire or even USB-C.
Should You Buy the Edifier M60?
For $170, the Edifier M60 speakers offer exceptional audio quality in a compact form factor, with versatile connectivity and a premium design. Whether youโre using them for music, movies, or gaming, they punch well above their weight class.
If you need a space-saving speaker setup that doesnโt compromise on sound, the Edifier M60s are an easy recommendation.
